Eye see you

When I was young(er), I used to think that wearing glasses is cool. Something about the way bespectacled people look... or is it because of the sheer fact that they own glasses. I didn't see it as an aid. In my eyes it was a gadget like iPod or digicam.

In any case, that fascination soon wore off. During my teens, I watched how my parents and my younger sister had to go thru eye check-ups and optician visits. Cases of losing specs, accidentally sitting on their specs, forgetting to bring their specs, etc. Not forgetting the price of a pair of good & nice glasses. In my family, only my younger sister suffered myopia. So while my parents were contented enough to have specs for their hyperopia, my younger sister resorted to wearing contacts. Short lived moment. She scratched her eye while taking off her contacts one day.

Nowadays it's common to see people with coloured contacts. As often as I see people with coloured braces. It's a fad. Some people with perfect eyesight wear coloured contacts too.

It's something that I will never understand for now. Given the kind of care regime one has to dutifully do to avoid swollen red puffy eyes, the amount spend on those products, don't they find it a hassle? But like what one friend told me... "One of the many things we endure to look good".

Ah... I see.

Our Family Cuckoo Clock

Cuckoo!

A fear to most young children. Including Md Ehsan. He is very much afraid to touch the clock. But each time the clock goes "Cuckoo!"... he is sure to watch.

Muhammad Mubarak

At 9.55am on 1st Dec 2006, Makcik smsed me. She sighed because she still cannot see her baby. Not long after that sms, her doctor warded her into the labour ward. Joyah, Mahanom & I continued smsing and updating each other on her progress throughout the day. Towards evening Mahanom had to attend a wedding dinner, Joyah was out with her family at Vivo City while I headed over to my cousins' house to help out with their wedding preps.

At 11.40pm, I received this sms:

"Baby Muhammad born 2253hrs. Weight 3.475kg, Length 51cm. Normal birth..."

Alhamdullilah!

Past midnight the 5 of us were smsing away. Asking details, wishing congrats, joking, etc so much that Mahanom congratulated me by mistake. Heehee!

I did not get to visit Makcik & baby in the hospital over the weekends. Was attending my cousins' weddings.

Finally last Monday, Joyah and I paid Makcik a visit. =)

Presenting...

See those rosy cheeks?

Camera flash too blinding

December Shoutouts

For no rhyme or reason, I started humming to this song as I left the office today. I surprised myself actually because 1) I don't have the vcd. Haven't watch it since I last borrowed from Jenab months ago, 2) I wasn't listening to my mp3. In fact the song is not even in my playlist, 3) it came out of the blue but it sure suits my mood at the moment. =)

A quick shoutout to 9 people - you know who you are:

To the 2 couples, Congratulations on your Big Day tomorrow...

To You, Happy Berfday...

To both of You, Congratulations on the arrival of your latest & newest family member... and finally,

To both of You. I hope you were not disappointed. Your piece of news was the most miraculous, unexpected and most Divine. My jaws literally dropped, I gasped and my eyes actually teared when I heard it. Masya'Allah.
