Holiday from labour

Makcik brought up the topic during our morning chat yesterday - Holiday trip. My initial reaction was "What?! Why last minute?"

But hey, when else is a good time for me? I may as well grab & utilise these weekends. I reached home at the stroke of midnight. Dad left for work this morning while I was still in slumberland. Mum is down with gastric flu.

My parents have not been informed.

This morning, we continued with our discussion for the trip.

Now minutes away from lunch time, we have planned the itinerary, booked & confirmed our hotel.

And I have yet to inform my parents. Tonight is a MUST.

I no like Uncle

The next time I buy breakfast from the office canteen, I'll make sure the Aunt is serving me.

Aunt provides personal customer service. Why waste a good fried selar kuning in a packet of nasi lemak (lit. fattening rice) when I don't eat it? So usually when I made my order, the Aunt will not hesitate to prepare a fresh new packet of nasi lemak with fillet instead of the selar kuning. I have to pay slightly more than the normal price but hey, I dun mind. After all, it's a win-win situation.

This morning I received Uncle's personal customer non-service. I requested for my usual order of nasi lemak. He stared at me, looking irritated. Then he told me that all the nasi lemak were pre-packed and contains selar kuning. Best of all, no provision for request of nasi lemak with fillet. They don't provide such service in the mornings. When I told him that I don't want the fish, he told me to just put it aside when I eat the rice.

Why pay for food that's for sure making a one way ticket to the bin? Wow, that sure is something new!

Alaturka!

As usual, I'm full each time after meeting these ladies (& 1 uncle. Sigh! =P). Tonight's dinner was at Alaturka Restaurant.

I had to change a book I purchased from Wardah Bookshop. For more convenience, I met Makcik & Mahanom there. I had thought it was Ladies' Night. The reservations made were for 3.

The small restaurant is situated next to Kampong Glam Cafe. We were the first customers to arrive that night. Had exclusive 'treatment' for perhaps 10 minutes or so before other customers arrived.

Our Dinner:

Appetiser (Mezzes) - Calamar Tava

Main Dish - Deniz Urunleri Guvec, Salmon Steak, Et Sote & Adana Kebab

Desserts (Tatlilar) - Sutlac, Kunefe & Baklava

Drinks - 2 Fruit Punch, Lemonade, Apple Tea & soft drink

Dinner was done by 9pm. But so were shopping malls (phew!), and the idea of catching a movie at that hour was too late. 4 of us hailed a cab and headed to Woodlands where we spent the rest of our night eating ice-cream, drinking Fanta Grape before Mahanom & I left to catch our respective buses.

Thanks Makcik & Pakcik for that post-dinner treat.

Thanks to Mahanom too for the wonderful gift & tidbit. Congrats! =)

Poor Pakcik got no gift. Be a good boy for X'mas ok? :P
