Chicken + Fish + Beef = Money Not Enough

Out of the house again. Had Chicken Burger for lunch. Been delaying payments for my studies but today's the dateline - for the early bird discount! Need to collect my pay in Woodlands too. Hmmm... money trickles in, money gushes out! Sigh!

Yesterday's shopping wasn't complete. Initially thought it was juz powder. But now it has become powder + 4 other items. Uh-oh...

Went to BP Plaza to check out the Kopitiam. Shifted from basement to 3rd storey. Cashless concept - had this Kopitiam cashcard thingy. Lots of new shops too. There was Breadtalk. As usual, its sickening smell mixed with air-conditioning choked me breathless. Urgh!

Ended up at the pets shop on 4th storey. Wanted to check out if they have Neon Tetras and buy some for Dayah. I thought I saw Neon Tetras until I asked the guy there. Nope, it's Cardinal Tetras. Prettier, brighter and more expensive than Neon Tetras. Bought 2 and fished out $4. The food supplement (to keep those scales bright) would have cost another $6. Never mind, buy another day.

Kinda slipped my mind that there was dinner at home. Went to Sakura and bought Beef Char Siew & Wanton rice. Reached home and saw that Cik Rahmat & family was there. Oh ya! Forgot that too. And mum cooked Hong Kong noodles. Double uh-oh...

Needless to say, I ate my Beef Char Siew & Wanton rice while watching Friends and Hong Kong noodles while watching Deep Blue Sea. Dunno if those were dinner or supper.

$$$ Money, money, money... $$$ (Part 2)

Went to Mustafa Centre right after IIFA ended @ 6pm. That place is jam-packed on weekends and my fren got lost. Finally met in Mustafa Centre itself half an hour later. Settled my shopping first before we headed back to Komalas for dinner. Missed eating Poori & drinking Badham milk. I got them! =)

After dinner, we walked to Suntec City. Stopped by Espirit. My fren bought a t-shirt while I sat. I have enough t-shirts for home wear. No comments on Espirit cos I've never bought anything from it.

Once again we walked our way to City Hall MRT station. At times like this I wish I have a car! Haha!

$$$ Money, money, money... $$$ (Part 1)

I'm not into shopping. I do shop... but just enough to replenish my supplies or replace my current items.

Today I started realising that 1) my toiletries were running low and 2) it's been a long while since I went to Little India. Minah was too tired to go out and Dearie had made other plans.

Hmm... it's almost 4pm. Sky is getting darker. I don't want to be caught in the rain but IIFA is gonna be featured on Channel 5! Hrithik! Heeheehee =)

NP Gals' Outing 2004!

Looks like this is one Saturday that's different from the rest this month!

I had to relief tutor 2 classes in the afternoon - from 1pm to 5pm. Best of all, only 1 student turned up in each class! Hahahaha =) The Pri 4 boy was very quiet. Very slow in finishing up the 3 problem sums I gave him... I actually spent the 2 hours going thru all 6 problem sums. Gosh!

The Pri 3 boy, Syazwan was sssssooooo cute. Didn't bring my digicam with me or I would have taken his pic. Had bright innocent eyes and dimplish melting smile! His tutor had covered every single topic. I had no choice but to let him do Mid-Year Paper 2. He fidgeted in his seat, scratched his head and when I asked he replied "Difficult question". After break, he came back perspiring. He wore himself out playing at the playground... all by himself! We went thru his paper and he scored 96%! Eerr and I thought he said it was difficult? Spent the remaining time talking with him. Smart boy!

I had smsed Jiamei to meet me earlier than the rest of the NP gals. While waiting for her to arrive, I went to the nearest provision shop to buy some snacks. I was very hungry! Jiamei arrived at 5.30pm. Got into the lorry and went to Woodlands. She wanted to grab a 'snack'.

We went to Burger King @ Causeway Point where our 'snacks' were made up of 1 Whopper Junior Meal (for me) and 1 Chicken Whopper Meal (for Jiamei). Reminded Jiamei of Weizhen's sms to meet @ 7pm SHARP. We left. On our way back to the basement carpark @ Civic Centre, Jiamei sidetracked to the Hyundai Car Show. Not forgetting the time spent searching for her cashcard to leave the carpark... we finally got back on the wrong road @ 7.15pm. What the heck, may as well fetch Minah.

We reached CCK Park @ 7.45pm. By then Ah Soh (Xinyi), Caifen, Suxin, Weizhen, and Christina had settled down and were busily tucking in their tummies. =P Jiamei and I were quite full from our 'snacks' yet she managed to finish her plate of Mee Goreng while I slurped my plate of Mee Hongkong away! =) Liting and Huisi joined us much later, having had dinner at home.

The CCK Park proved too bright and dull for us to rest, relax & gossip. Minah suggested heading down to West Coast Park. Most of us were in casuals, having had experienced the lorry ride last year. Liting and I sat in front with Jiamei while the rest settled down for a bumpy ride and strong wind in their hair and face... at the back.

I stayed away from the obstacle course because the sand was wet from rain. The others climbed the Pyramid Web, Vertical Rope and some other courses leaving their bags and shoes conveniently at the bench where I sat. Much later, we found a spot near to the sea. Sat in a circle and gossiped all the way till midnight.

Minah's plan to leave by 10pm and my intention to be back early were not entertained. Had not our butts ached from having sat for so long, we would not have gotten up and left. Goodness!

Jiamei cheekily told me to drive us back so that she could sleep. No way! I'm inexperienced. All roads seem small and narrow while driving in the lorry. I dare not even make a U-turn after dropping Liting off at her house. Jiamei definitely could not sleep. For me, I got a headache after driving.

Seems like nobody brought their digicams this time round. A great outing none the least!

Troy in Seoul Garden...

Hahhaah! Our plan to watch Troy @ Cineleisure Orchard went up in smokes. Makcik queued in vain because all tickets for the 7pm slot we wanted were sold out.

We decided to catch the movie another day. Mahanom & I were super hungry. All of us headed to Takashimaya and had dinner @ Seoul Garden. Dinner - being a long and relaxed affair. Even after leaving the place @ 9.30pm, Mahanom & Makcik were still in their shopping spirits. Thank goodness, TSC closes. Phew! =)

Strolled our way to Burger King @ Borders. Went in, sat and continued our conversation until Pakcik arrived @ 10pm. He sped all the way, which was a bit odd because I usually see him doing that only when he is straining to open his sleepy eyes. Maybe he was just in the mood to speed. Heehee!

Sayang's blog is ok now. Pictures are stretched though. Hmmm... all the people appear so tall. Goodnite! Gonna watch 'Ishq Hai Tumse' on Zee Tv.

Sayang!!!

Sayang is online even while I am typing away. Long long time no see! The last time we met was last July. That's almost a year. Woah...

Some time ago, we chatted about blogs & stuff. I have completely forgotten the url. Sorry Sayang, but that's what happens when you don't allow me to put your link on my webbie. =P Whatever it is, you've made a good move to transfer to blogspot. Just hoping that your blog goes back to normal instead of the blank page I'm seeing now.

Another day at home. Been staying at home often eversince I'm out of job. Good eh? Not for long. I'm going out to watch Troy with Makcik & Mahanom tomorrow. Minah opted out as she has yet to study for her Madrasah papers. All ze best for your papers! Question now is... should I leave the house earlier to hang out in town? Or maybe drop by Little India? Been a long while since I went there. Hmmm plenty of decision making stuffs.

Sleep on them. My mood tomorrow will decide the course. ;-)

Dun waste your life... PSLE la dey!

Was suppoz to have tuition today. I trust my instincts better. Boy's mother called to ask if I was coming. I gave her my word. Yet I knew it wasn't going to happen. True enough, she smsed later. Her son has requested that tuition be postponed. Will call his mother tomorrow.

Been thru Pri 6 life. Played havoc during that year. Got myself bronzed from playing soccer with the boys, hang out in McDonalds after school and even lost my entire schoolbag a week before PSLE! And as if that wasn't enough... I rode my cousin's bike while in Malacca and injured myself. Reported myself to my secondary school with deep scars on my arms, legs and face. My mum warned me to stop playing soccer with the boys during recess. Thank goodness my female classmates did not spent recess time playing zeropoint or hopscotch... or I would have disobeyed. Are you kidding? Some of the boys knew me from primary school.

I definitely cannot say that I was studious. Just look at the mis/adventures that I have had... it's not a normal route. Then again, I wasn't bottom of the class either. Sometimes I wonder why I was such a rascal. Is it because of my hatred for being transferred to another school? Or is it because of the sudden independence I obtained? Both perhaps?

Whatever it was, those chain of events taught me lots. Real good hard knocks. It didn't turn me into an angel rightaway... that would have been a miracle. Now I'm wishing that I could knock that boy's head to the wall. Real good hard knocks! =P

Truth... or More Truth!!!

My secondary schoolmate Azlina got married today. We (Pakcik, Mahanom, Wak, Minah & me) gathered at Makcik's house before going to Azlina's wedding reception. Congrats to Az & Tasha!

Back row (L to R): Me, Pakcik, Makcik, Mahanom, Kiat Teng, Syed & Zuhaidi
Front row (L to R): Wak, Fara, Minah, Groom Tasha, Bride Azlina, Yaling, Li Ching

After the reception, we watched Shrek 2 @ Golden Village Causeway Point. Makcik & Mahanom in baju kurungs, Minah in kurta and me in pantsuit... can you imagine it?? The movie was not a disappointment. I enjoyed it.

We returned to Makcik's house... and Hansem Boy was in such a giggly mood! Just look at his cheeky smile!

Left Makcik's house again and headed to One Fullerton. We settled down near the Merlion and played rounds of Truth or Dare. Kudos to Pakcik for being the 'verbalaser' of the day. =P We finally left for dinner a quarter to ten. Thank you for the lovely outing! Goodnite.

Birthday Treat 3!

Chatted online with Makcik till 4am this morning. Dozed all the way till 1pm! Minah had planned to have lunch with me @ 3.15pm but... she had a change of mind. Of course I was unprepared.

Met Minah in Bugis @ 3.30pm. Walked to Sofra Turkish Cafe & Restaurant. Great! I had wanted to bring her to this place for her birthday last year... but didn't know it shifted and ended up treating her to Magic Wok instead. She remembers!

We both ordered Chef Plate and orange juice. For a change, we requested that rice be served instead of bread. We got it! Heehee... Took our own sweet time to eat. We took turns to take pictures. In my hope of catching a candid shot of Minah eating... I caught her 'struggling' with the kebab! Hahahhaha!

Then we ordered dessert. Chocolate pudding was nice. Turkish tea was a bit thick in my opinion but the Baklava was practically soaked and dripping in super duper sweet sauce! I lost my sense of taste after that.

After lunch, we headed back to Seiyu Parco Bugis to buy babygift for Minah's new niece. Her sister-in-law was still in KK Hospital and since it was nearby, we walked all the way there to pay a visit. My legs are trembling now... Tomorrow I'm attending my fren's wedding. Oh God!

Birthday Treat 2!

Woke up this morning and was shocked to receive sms from Dearie. It read "Free for lunch @ 2.45pm later? See you... Cafe Vienna."

Dearie has been sick for the past one week. We have not contacted during that week and that sms was a nice surprise indeed. Nice enough to send me jumping out of bed, into the bathroom and out of the house within an hour!

When I arrived, Dearie was already there. Reservations made for 2 under Dearie's name. Friday afternoon and the crowd was noisy. Dearie commented that Grand Hyatt suffered worse crowd... until I mentioned IIFA. Sigh! Would have bought ticket if Hrithik Roshan is in Singapore. =)

We settled down quickly and began our rounds of food. My first round consisted of all fried fingerfood - chicken wing, chicken pie, crabclaw, etc. Second round was all boiled food - dim sum, prawns, pau, sushi (odd one! hehe). Avoided the nasi lemak, fried bee hoon, mee soto, laksa and congee. Finally we got our dessert. There was no ice-creams served. Both of us are recovering from sickness so it doesn't matter. I took a plate of assorted pastries. Then went to the buffet area again to take a big slice of bread pudding! Hmmm.... with a generous helping of its vanilla sauce!

We left the place @ 5.30pm. Me full and Dearie bloated. Made our way to Orchard MRT station and departed. My plan to meet Makcik @ Causeway Library was cancelled. Went there on my own and did some good reading. Finally left and went to Minah's house to pass my modem. She served me a bowl of laksa while I watched Dhadkan on tv. Boy! My stomach's bursting!

Birthday Treat 1!

Minah called me on Thursday requesting that I helped her out with some task... so reported for 'work' this morning. Not feeling well though. Nose was kinda runny and unfortunately it got work during lunch break. Uurrgghh aaachoo!

Makcik, Minah, Mahanom & I were supposed to meet @ 6pm in Plaza Singapura later. Around 3pm, Minah smsed to say that she wasn't feeling well. By 5pm, I had a blocked nose. Better than a runny nose! Even the receptionist commented on my non-stop sneezing.

I did as much work as I could. They tried to hold me back but no no no... 6pm is the limits! Cleared up Minah's office table, left her a note and took bus service 190 straight to Orchard. Makcik & Mahanom were waiting for me in Takashimaya. They gave me a birthday treat! Initial plan was to head down to Swensens near Crown Hotel but there was such a long queue... we took a bus down to Plaza Singapura instead. The Swensens @ Plaza Singapura had a relatively shorter queue (during which Makcik managed to shop and buy a tissue box cover!).

Makcik & I took pics of our food as dinner was served. Poor Mahanom had to bear with us. Hahahaha =) We ate, joked and talked so much. Stopped for a while and my birthday ice-cream cake was served! I knew Makcik had something up her sleeves... she was whispering to the waitress during orders, whispering again after our dinner and pushed all our glasses to clear the centre of the table. Of course when I asked her, she answered nothing. Took more pics again, cut and ate the cake.

Didn't realise the time till a waitress came to our table to ask if we had any last order to be made. Ooppss! Almost 10pm. By this time, my rounds of sneezing had started again. Drank hot water, Mahanom paid the bill and we left for the ladies. Pakcik arrived and drove us home. THANK YOU LADIES for the birthday treat!
