Frozen... stiff!

Was up, out and about from morning till night. Right now I'm shivering from cold and hunger. Lunch was a bottle of mineral water and skipped dinner altogether. I've been standing and walking so much that my legs are numb. Dearie, thank you so much for letting me rest tomorrow! =) It was nice getting to know Sim. A very friendly, motivated guy. His presence made those hours bearable and enjoyable instead. =)

The immediate after effect from it... well, I'm predicting aches from head to toes literally. Other effects... hard biceps, strong back, flat tummy, tight butt & slender legs perhaps? Hahah! =P

Trouble Brewing.

I went to town to meet Sidah, Ju & Wahidah for our job training. Took the lift to 4th floor, reported for work and within minutes I had left the job place! Shan't comment much on that. Not here at least.

Went to Coffee Bean to simmer down and rationalise my thoughts. By the time I left town, the HR department had called and apologised twice. That's just the beginning. =)

Headed to Borders. Browsed, sat and read. Grabbed dinner and went home. Tomorrow... heeheehee!

Aunty A-Sha? Aaawww...

Makcik smsed me around noon asking if I was free. Hansem Boi kept calling my name. Haven't met the little darling for quite a while. But I was occupied with 'The Sims' game.

I've been hooked to that game since the day it was born. But with work, tuition and other events that entered my life... the game was eventually neglected. Recently 'The Sims 2' game was launched worldwide. I have not gotten my hands on that game, yet. For the time being however, I have started playing and building families in my neighbourhoods again. I have dedicated a neighbourhood for my frens. Well, not all of my frens. A neighbourhood for my family & relatives... With a limited budget of 20,000 simoleans (the Sims' currency) per family, their houses have no floors & colourless walls!

Left my house and met Minah's younger bro @ the bus stop. Poor guy has been waiting for the bus for the past 1/2 hour! I reached just in time to see Hansem Boi getting ready to go out. We went to Makcik's & Pakcik's new house. Makcik tried to get Hansem Boi to play in the playground but he refused. Instead he walked around, refusing to hold hands with Makcik and watched those men played sepak takraw. Hahah! =)

Good night!

Ka-ching!

Went to town for a briefing and training session. Hands-on with the cashier machine was fun. Got to know new acquaintances too. =) Though it's brief and temporary, I definitely cannot forget the 'punching' I got from the cashtill as it goes Ka-Ching!

Can you hear it ring
It makes you wanna sing
You'll live like a king
With lots of money and things
Ka-ching!

~ Shania Twain ~

Was in a hurry going from one place to the next place. Finally had my lunch of Prawn Burger meal in Takashimaya MacDonalds @ 4.45pm. Nice!

Minah & I had an appointment with Sayang in town later. With the rest of the evening to ourselves, Minah & I had wanted to watch 'Terminal'. Went to Shaw House & Cineleisure. But both cinemas had late movie schedules. Sheesh...

Sayang arrived promptly @ 6.45pm in Orchard. We headed to Wisma MacDonalds, sat and chatted while waiting for Minah. I had enough of MacDonalds from lunch. Apparently Sayang too! Hahah =) Minah came around 7.15pm.

Sayang left @ 7.30pm to attend a wake in Toa Payoh. Minah & I had dinner @ Breeks. I ordered a set meal of Sirloin Steak (sweet corn soup + ice-cream dessert) with Cookies & Cream milkshake. Love the milkshake but dinner was way way heavy for my stomach. Felt like a penguin waddling to Somerset MRT station after that.

We alighted @ Farrer Park MRT station and once again, I waddled while Minah walked to Mustafa Centre. She is leaving for her KL trip this weekend and wanted to buy toiletries. I remember vaguely that it was 9.45pm when we arrived. Definitely not expecting both of us to be waiting for bus home @ 11.30pm though! When I first glanced at my watch, I thought it was 10.30pm.

We sat down waiting for the bus. One bus stopped and 2 jerks inside actually peered out to look at us. Goodness! I turned away and told Minah. Minah stared at them and got ticked off. Hahahah! I'm stunned.

Stomach still feeling super full. No more set meal the next time I go Breeks.

West to East in the rain...

I left the house for an interview smacked in Bedok Road. Was so unfamiliar with the area around Tanah Merah MRT station. Had I not looked up the street directory, I would have lost my directions.

Arrived a quarter to 2pm, earlier than expected. Sat down, waited and waited... I was the only guest around in that office. BP was drizzling when I left, raining heavily by the time I was on the expressway but surprisingly Bedok was dry & bright. I had not brought an umbrella with me. Phew! Next thing I knew, there was thunder and then it started raining. God knows how I'm leaving that office...

Soon Tracene came out to meet me. Went through the interview session. Midway, she called the accountant into her room to interview me. In comparison, I find that the accountant had more questions for me. Questions were more specifically job related too.

Before I left, Tracene asked how I was going back. Asked if I had brought an umbrella. I smiled and said that I'll be fine. Rain was still as heavy as ever. Instead of dashing across the road to take the bus back to Tanah Merah MRT station, I took a bus at the alighted bus stop. Stayed on the lookout for the next MRT station. Now I know that bus service 9 travels from Bedok to Simei. =)

Grabbed my lunch @ EastPoint Burger King. Called up Jiamei & we decided to meet up in City Hall. Took the MRT, entered Raffles City and walked about. Managed to drop by MPH to read Baby Blues comics before Jiamei called.

She drove us to Park Lane. We played several games of pool. Either I was hungry or getting tired, I started losing to her. Brought takeaway dinner and headed up to East Coast Park. Our intention was to sat down on the beach for our dinner & chat. Due to the intermittent showers, we stayed put in the lorry. 2 crazy gals eating, chatting & laughing in a lorry in the EC carpark! =)

Perhaps it was the park. Perhaps the chat. Whatever it was, I felt so relieved, relaxed and refreshed. Park was empty too. When we finally call it a night, it was 11.30pm. 2 crazy gals out having fun on a Tuesday night! Jiamei drove us back... right into my carpark. We plan to meet again this Friday.

Been humming this song on my way back. The song itself has no significance but I always hum this tune when I'm in this particular mood.
"Tere Bina Ek Pal Na Rehna Kehta Hai Dil Baar Baar
Tu Hai Meri Aakhri Tamanna Tu Hai Mera Pehla Pyaar"

Man on Fire... doused.

Lazy lazy Saturday. Slept late, woke up much later. Head is groggy and I'm sniffing. Oh God, no colds please!

Planned with my fren to watch "Man on Fire" in town but I have no idea which cinema. Soon enough I received sms. Cathay Orchard @ 4.10pm. Ah... ok. Looked @ cuckoo clock - 2pm. What?! Pray that there's no traffic jam on PIE!

Bus journey was ok other than slight delay caused by road works. 4th lane - for overtaking, was blocked. Missed 5 minutes of the movie. Practically squirming in my seat watching those gory scenes - when Denzel Washington tortured those thugs. It's not the blood that irks me, it's their blood-curling screams. Ear torturing!

Left the cinema wondering if I had missed some important stuffs during that 5 minutes. Minah, do tell me again why you cry watching that movie ok?

Headed to KFC for dinner. Ordered the 'Ultimate Meal'. That's it. I'm avoiding chicken till next week. I'm juz not a chicken-lover. =P

We took a long stroll to Plaza Singapura. No stopping to shop whatsoever till we entered Carrefour. Saw my fav Hot & Spicy chips and grabbed a packet. Took bus 190 from Park Mall, alighted @ BP Plaza and checked out the new stores @ basement floor. At least now I know that Watsons is still around. =) Walked home in the drizzle, with a cup of Freezy Coke from 7-11. *slaps forehead* Heavy downpour begins the minute I stepped into the house. Good night!

Walk, walk, wanna walk...

Accompanied my fren to buy a gift for a colleague. Met up in Orchard MRT station. Decided to shop around in Takashimaya. Before that, we grabbed our meals @ MacDonalds.

Our shopping quest was short & quick. We found the gift, requested for a new set & got the saleslady to wrap it. Done!

We entered HMV to look around, then walked our way to PS. Ended up in Carrefour and I shopped. I saw a new box of cereals and wanted to try it. So naturally, I had to buy milk. Along the way I saw some instant soup packets. Reminded me of Minah's Mushroom Soup that I had eaten so... I put 2 into the basket. Then while making my way to the counter, I grabbed 2 bottles of cooling powder. Finally! Been searching for that powder. =)

At this moment, I can only comment that the instant soup I bought is for 1 mug ONLY. Soup is creamy and tad too thick. But best eaten when dipped with bread. Yummy!

Painting X-Box.

Headed down to Makcik's new house in the afternoon. Pakcik & Makcik had decided to paint their 2 rooms by themselves. But they soon realised that they had more than enough paint for all rooms... and that's exactly what they did! Superman & Wonder Woman!

Muhd Aqif & Umi were there too. While Superman & Wonder Woman were busy painting, Muhd Aqif played with their X-box games. Later on he taught me to play. My gaming skills are disastrous! The boy was laughing at my poor racing attempts. Sheesh! I gave up. My turn to laugh came when he played 'True Crime - Streets of L.A'. For sheer fun, he shot down every civil human being & drove all his cars to pieces! =)

We stopped playing for a while. Went to the pasar malam with Umi. Muhd Aqif started giving me all sorts of riddles & jokes. At one juncture while we were waiting for burgers & keropok lekor, Muhd Aqif asked "Air ape yang kita selalu pergi tapi tak pernah beli?" Umi & I were controlling our laughters thinking of all the nonsensical answers. I had assumed that it was a dirty joke. Got us into stitches hearing his answer. My mind is so corrupted! =P

Within minutes after we returned to the freshly-painted house, Pakcik's parents arrived. Stayed on a bit till 11pm. Then hurried off to catch the last bus home.

Princess, Dearie & 1/2 Singapore.

A year since I met Princess Di. With the school term holidays going on this week, we had lunch @ Banquet Jurong Point. I couldn't help smiling when I read her sms "I'm out. Wearing my track pants. Very slack." Work as a teacher must be so stressful that she's behaving that way. =)

For over an hour, we sat smack in the middle of Banquet enjoying our lunch. Definitely nice. Both of us used to be so nuts. We would travel all the way to Jurong Point solely to eat together in Banquet every week!

I spent the next couple of hours going around Jurong Point in search of a photocopying service. Princess Di left to meet her aunt & cuz. Finally I surrendered & sent another sms to her. Seems like that was the only shop. Whatever it is, I'm not photocopying there next time. =P Expensive.

Left JP, took MRT & alighted @ Orchard station. Entered C.K Tang and dropped my sick Palmy. There was an ongoing sale... and major renovation. I didn't mind making one round to reach the escalator. But I got too distracted. Ended escalating up & down between the 2nd & 3rd floor. Sheesh! Quickly took the lift before I die from sheer blur-ism.

Friday @ 5.30pm and Orchard was stirring up. Busy as always yet I could still afford to walk without jostling or bumping into the crowd. Missed Dearie's call twice! Our appointment was @ 6.15pm in Bugis.

By then, I had walked to Specialists' Shopping Centre. Took MRT and met Dearie in City Hall station. We went to NTUC House. I read the papers while Dearie settled some stuffs. Both were in the mood to walk. We walked out of NTUC House to Little India. Fulfilled my cravings for Poori & Badham ! =)

Took another long walk to Mustafa Centre. Visited the vcd shop. Both guys smiled. I was asked "Where's your other fren?" Sigh... One of these days must go there with Minah. Hahah! One was persuading me to buy 'Lakshya' because of Hrithik, the other was showing me 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge' with the movie & song blaring at my ears. I think Dearie had a culture shock seeing all those explicit dance items. Poor Dearie.

Walking has never posed a problem for me. Yet for unknown reasons, my feet were aching badly. Couldn't even walk to the bus stop properly. For the first time, Dearie & I departed in front of Tekka Mall. Got worse when I had to stand all the way home in the bus. Both legs completely crammed & jammed up.

Better head to bed early tonight. Sweet dreams!

Palmy?! What's wrong?

Went to Sim Lim. My fren wanted to buy a new MP3 player. So while waiting, I browsed around looking at the new digicams, DVD players, etc. In the midst of it all I started thinking about my Palm. Since I'm a free bird now, my Palm stays home even when I'm out. I can hardly remember the last time I did my HotSync. Mmm... 2 months ago perhaps? But without fail, I would still recharge.

Once done shopping, we headed to PS for dinner. Conversation touched on the IT gadgets available in market and those we have bought. My fren was so excited over the new MP3 player. It's small, sleek and a shiny metallic red. Could store over 60 English songs / 40 Hindi songs. Well fren, I still prefer to enjoy music in the comfort of my laptop @ home. Unless I own a car, I don't even burn CDs now.

We left PS @ 10pm. Took the MRT home and I did my 45 mins walk home again. All the while, my mind was on my Palm. A couple weeks back I couldn't switch it on despite having recharged the night before. Knowing well that I've not entered any new data since my last sync, I had simply pressed reset. Served its purpose for that period of time. Now that incident is bothering me. Something's not right but I'm not going to cut my walk short just for that.

Finally arrived home @ 11.30pm. While watching the PGA Tour on tv, I went online and tinkered with my Palm.

Yep, Palmy is sick. I had reset, recharged and did another HotSync. Everything appeared in place till it automatically switched off. Pressed the button to switch it on again. The screen flickered for a split second before the preferences' settings appeared. It had never before done that!

Gotta find its warranty papers. Gonna pay a visit to Harvey Norman tomorrow.

All change begins with you.

Writings of an Anglican bishop...

" When I was young and free and my imagination had no limits, I dreamt of changing the world;

As I grew older and wiser I realized the world would not change.

And I decided to shorten my sights somewhat and change only my country. But it too seemed immovable.

As I entered my twilight years, in one last desperate attempt, I sought to change only my family, those closest to me, but alas they would have none of it.

And now here I lie on my death bed and realize (perhaps for the first time) that if only I'd changed myself first, then by example I may have influenced my family and with their encouragement and support I may have bettered my country, and who knows I may have changed the world."

Mmm... =)

Just pondering out loud...

Suddenly reminded of the conversation I had with Minah the other day. I have forgotten the content of it. What I remember is 'Tiong Bahru'.

I used to frequent that place with my classmates and squadmates for movies. Somehow then, it didn't matter to us that the place was out of the way. Was it the companion? Or was it just us being teenagers with wacky hormones?

Hmm... come to think of it. I spent much of my teenage life involved in a youth club in Paya Lebar! My parents went ballistic each time I mentioned my intention to go there. It didn't bother me at all cos as I see it then, I'm the one who's travelling and not them. Now on hindsight, goodness me!

It was crazy yet I didn't mind waking up early and getting ready. Journey was long yet I arrived with or without companions. To this date, I still cherish those times there.

What is it that makes a person go out of his/her way? For kids, it's all about having fun & enjoyment. For adults? Is TIME the factor? Along with accessibility, cost, and other priorities? Other than being very adult-ish, I think all that practically sap the energy, drive, passion and life out of everything. No wonder I see lots of zombies going to work. Even so, not all perform well. =P

Dearie, go Little India next week eh?

Met Dearie online. Trip to Little India got cancelled again. Sigh... have to KIV my plan to have Poori, Badham milk & Ladoo!

7.30pm - Left house to meet Minah @ bus-stop. Couldn't find my digicam. Luckily she found hers. Took bus straight to Marina Centre.

Minah had her eyes on a long skirt. One of the outlets is in Marina Centre itself. She made a beeline for the skirts section, found the size she wanted and headed into the changing room. Nice skirt. Within 15 minutes, she paid and we left. I like her shopping style! =)

Had Hot Plate Black Pepper Chicken Rice for dinner. Then we went to Polar Puff. I bought Chocolate Eclair, Minah bought Strawberry Cheesecake then we walked to One Fullerton.

Place is nice as always. Atmosphere was slightly noise polluted. Not from the crowd but from a boat! One lady was croaking in the Karoke Pub Boat. My poor eardrums.

11.30pm - Alighted from bus in Bukit Panjang. Thanx Minah! =)

BIG brue brack. =(

Late afternoon I received a phone call from Minah. She told me to come over to her house. Her house is a mere stone's throw away from my house. But I had to make a trip to Causeway Point Metro first.

Dad had his long trousers altered there the other day. In complete blurness, they had forgotten to include the alteration charges to the bill. Took bus 963 there and arrived in 15 minutes flat. Then hurried into Metro.

I passed the claim form to one of the ladies at the cashier counter. She passed the 'baton' to a petite, stress-looking young lady. For the next 20 minutes, I walked around watching this lady shuttling from the men's department to the customer service corner... thrice! The claim form remained in her clasp with no sign of my Dad's pants or plastic bag.

I was definitely in no mood to wait but fortunately for that lady, I was simply too lazy to open my mouth. Instead I walked over to the women's section and browsed. Let that lady take her own sweet time while I take mine. Hah! I only went back to the counter after I was done browsing. By then, there were 4 staffs at the counter. Their eyes lit up when they saw me. Ah... god-sent customer? =P

One lady took the liberty to explain that I have not paid for the alterations. Zipped my lips and just nodded. Paid up and quickly left. *roll eyes*

'Singapore Idol' ended 10 minutes after I arrived @ Minah's house. Should have helped Minah with her PC then. I didn't. Minah & I ate, chatted while watching TV. Slipped my mind that 'The Apprentice' was @ 11pm.

Whatever it is, I managed to watch it. Limped in and out of the room liasing with the Singnet staff, meddling with Minah's PC and catching glimpses of the show. It was only when the staff suggested that I reinstall everything back that I stopped. Well Minah, just bear another 1 more day of internetless ok? You are gonna get Starhub Broadband tomorrow. =) Gotta thank you for lending me your 'Main Hoon Na' vcd and yes, for giving me that wonderful 'souvenir' when I bumped into your super solid almost-cemented teak chair. Yeow!

Snob-blogger? Bah!

Junior Diva

You might come off as kind of edgy, but you'll never actually achieve snob status, because let's face it: you don't care a whole helluva lot about what other people are up to. And in a snob's world, you have to spend a lot of time comparing everything. You've got your own agenda. If some people feel like you're a little chilly at first, they see your sincere side soon enough. With a decent grasp on reality, it's hard to look down your nose at everything that comes your way. On the flipside, you're not into sugar-coating things, either. You're the ideal combination of someone who knows what she wants, as well as a gracious recipient when you actually get it. So while you're no pushover, no one can ever accuse you of acting seriously superior.

See? I'm not. =P What about you? Do the quiz!
